HC Davos were founded in 1921 and with 31 league titles are the most successful ice hockey club in Switzerland. The club enjoyed particularly strong success in the early and mid-20th century, building on that past success with modern-era championships in 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and most recently in 2015
HC Davos are one of the most popular clubs in Switzerland and can count on a large following throughout the country. Their home arena, the Zondacrypto Arena, is a unique architectural creation made of wood which stands 1560 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the Swiss Alps.
Between 1996 and 2018 the club were led by Head Coach Arno Del Curto, under whose watch came six championships.
Each December, HC Davos and the Zondacrypto Arena co-host the annual Spengler Cup, which is Europe's longest-running international club ice hockey tournament, dating back to 1923. Every December, teams from Europe and beyond travel to Davos to compete in this prestigious event, which has become a key part of the club’s international reputation and hockey tradition.
HC Davos will return to the Champions Hockey League in 2026/27 after missing three seasons of Europe's elite ice hockey competition. They previously made the Semi-Finals of the pan-European competition back in 2015/16.
