Vienna Capitals vs KalPa Kuopio
In arguably the biggest game of the day, Vienna host KalPa with one of these teams destined to go out of the competition tonight. The Capitals were within five minutes of making the knockout stages on Friday in Kuopio, but a late turnaround for the home side saw KalPa take the points.
As with that game, KalPa again need to take a regulation win tonight to stay alive in the CHL. Any other result will send the Capitals through.
"We look forward to the game," said captain Jonathan Ferland. "We still have a chance to qualify. Our big advantage is that we're playing at home in front of our fans. We'll certainly have a lot of support in the arena."
On the last meeting, which Vienna led 1-0 halfway through the third period before giving up three late goals, Ferland said, "We had our chances. We were already one foot in the next round. We have our game run through 60 minutes – not just 45 minutes like Friday."
