Norway’s TV2 Sport, France’s L’Equipe 21, and Slovenia’s SportTV are the latest broadcasters to sign on to broadcast the 2014-15 Champions Hockey League season.

After two and a half years of preparation, the Champions Hockey League opens with 15 games on 21 August and Game Day 1 will conclude with seven games on 22 August. Game Day 2 follows immediately with 13 games on Saturday, 23 August and nine games on Sunday, 24 August.

The Group Stage, with 44 teams, will see 132 games being played with the 11 group winners and the five best second-place teams qualifying for the round of 16. The one-off final will be played on 3 February 2015 at the home arena of the club with the best record leading up to the final.

The Champions Hockey League – presented by Engelbert Strauss – will boast unprecedented TV and media coverage as far as pan-European club ice hockey is concerned. All 161 games will be produced and shown on various platforms across Europe and the United States.

The Champions Hockey League, through its marketing partner Infront Sports & Media AG, has secured TV and media exposure in 13 countries, with fans in other countries and territories being able to follow games via video streaming at www.championshockeyleague.net

With Norway’s TV2 Sport, L’Equipe 21in France and SportTV in Slovenia, the Champions Hockey League currently has 11 major media rights agreements in 13 countries, also including Austria (LAOLA1.tv) Finland (MTV), Germany (Sport1) Sweden (SVT), Slovakia & the Czech Republic (SlovakSport.TV), Switzerland (Teleclub), Great Britain & Ireland (Premier Sports) and the United States (ONE World Sports).

The earliest puck drop on 21 August is in Ostrava, where Vítkovice takes on German DEL-champion ERC Ingolstadt at 17:00 CET. The first CHL goal puck will be presented to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
