48 clubs from 13 countries open this week the third season of the Champion Hockey League, Europe’s preeminent competition for the continent’s club supremacy. Sweden’s Frolunda Gothenburg are the defending champions. The teams which participate in the 2016-17 season represent a total of 267 national championships between them.
A new country joining the Champions Hockey League is Poland, represented by 2015-16 champions Comarch Cracovia. See the presentation video of newcomer Comarch Cracovia here.

Broadcasting
Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive media and marketing partner of the Champions Hockey League, has sold media rights for the competition to 17 broadcasters and digital platforms worldwide, covering a total of 47 territories. A new broadcast agreement with Serbian-based Arena Sport will expand media coverage to countries such as Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo. In addition, French-based l’Equipe returns to the competition and expands broadcast coverage to France and various French overseas territories.
