As the Champions Hockey League group stage concluded on Wednesday, the 16 teams that will advance to the playoff stage have been established. Kärpät Oulu of Finland and Sparta Prague of the Czech Republic won their groups to become the last two teams to qualify.

Finnish 2014 champion Kärpät Oulu and the Czech league’s superior 2014 regular season winner Sparta Prague were the last two teams to qualify for the Champions Hockey League playoffs on 8 October.
Below are the 16 teams who have qualified for the 1/8 finals. Teams are listed by group stage record and the two pots out of which the teams will be drawn on Friday.
Pot A (the eight best group winners): Frölunda Gothenburg (SWE), Red Bull Salzburg (AUT), Lukko Rauma (FIN), Skellefteå AIK (SWE), Vienna Capitals (AUT), Linköping HC (SWE), Fribourg-Gottéron (SUI), SaiPa Lappeenranta (FIN).
Pot B (the three remaining group winners and the best five second-placed teams): Kärpät Oulu (FIN), Sparta Prague (CZE), Tappara Tampere (FIN), Luleå Hockey (SWE), Genève-Servette (SUI), IFK Helsinki (FIN), JYP Jyväskylä (FIN), TPS Turku (FIN).
The Finnish Liiga dominates the playoff picture with seven teams, Swedish SHL has four, Austrian EBEL has two, Swiss NLA also two with the Czech Extraliga adding one team.
The Champions Hockey League Playoff Draw will be held on Friday 10 October at the MTV Studios in Helsinki, Finland.
The draw will take place at 13.00 local time (12.00 Central European Time) and will be broadcast live on MTV platform and streamed live on www.championshockeyleague.net
Basic playoff draw regulations:
Teams which played in the same group during the group stage cannot be drawn against each other in the 1/8 finals.
Teams from the same country may be drawn against each other.
The brackets that will be established at the 10 October draw will determine the playoffs all the way to the one-game final on 3 February (No other draws will be conducted).
A roster window will open between 10 October and 23 October during which the 16 playoff teams may add 2 skaters and 1 goaltender to their current CHL rosters.

- Quarter-Finals: 2 & 9 December
- Semi-Finals: 13 & 20 January, 2015
- Final: 3 February, 2015 (at home of the team with the best group stage + playoff record of the two finalists)
