Four teams will start the final chapter of their journey for a place in the CHL Final when the Champions Hockey League returns tomorrow!
Luleå Hockey, Frölunda Gothenburg, EV Zug and Tappara Tampere are the four teams still in the race for the European Trophy.
Both Liiga side Tappara and Swiss NL side Zug have had huge success domestically in recent years, with both clubs lifting their domestic championship trophies in 2022 and have consistently finished in the highest positions of their leagues. This will be the third time the two veteran CHL clubs meet on Europe's biggest club ice hockey stage, following encounters in the 2019/20 Round of 16 and 2015/16 Group Stage.
Finnish side Tappara have a slight edge, having lost to the Swiss team only once, but how will it be in their Semi-Finals First Game scheduled for 17:30 CET?
Apart from their SHL familiarity, Swedish sides Luleå and Frölunda have also met in the CHL - three times to be exact! Luleå have the edge, having won three of their five encounters, but Frölunda have knocked their SHL rivals out of the CHL Playoffs two times.
Luleå have never lost a CHL Playoffs First Game to Frölunda and considering the fact that they've won all ten of their games this season, they are a strong contender to win their Semi-Finals First Game which will start at 18:05 CET but when two teams know each other as well as these two do, outcomes can be hard to predict.

Aggregate score
The Round of 16, Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals are played in a home-and-away, two-game series format and are decided on combined aggregate score of the First and Return Game. Overtime and shootouts are used in the Return Game if the aggregate score is tied after regulation.
Overtime is played 10 minute sudden-death, 3-on-3. The team that score the first goal are declared the winner of the series. Should no goals be scored, a shootout (five shooters each team) will determine who advances to the next round.
