It was a great start to the Champions Hockey League in its first season in Belfast. On the ice, the Giants took four points from a possible six in their debut in Europe's top-flight competion; while off it over 8,000 fans came into the SSE Arena across both games.
Here are some of the highlights from Belfast's opening weekend!
The Atmosphere
If it was 'loud' on opening night at home to Liberec, then it was triple that for the visit of Augsburg. Some 800 travelling fans added to the party on Saturday night to make an incredible atmosphere!
Giant welcome to the Champions Hockey League
Belfast are embracing their debut in the Champions Hockey League with events not just around their arena. On Saturday they took the trophy to the city centre to let fans of both teams, and the general public, have their photos with it.
On the ice
It was certainly a memorable weekend on the ice, too. The Giants won their opening game against Liberec 5-4 before just being edged out 3-2 by Augsburg in a shootout. They're now involved in a three-way tie for top spot in Group C, making this week's road trip all the more important.
