After last week's Group Stage Draw for the 2022/23 season of the Champions Hockey League, we spoke to representatives of the teams drawn into Group A to find out their thoughts about their opponents.
The Aalborg Pirates' Thomas Simonsen thinks "it's going to be very exciting!", whilst former NHLer and current Jukurit Mikkeli Head Coach Olli Jokinen thinks that Group A is going to be a "tough group", adding that "Sparta Prague and Luleå Hockey both had really good regular seasons and played in the playoff finals of their leagues. It's definitely a huge challenge ahead of us in September!"
Luleå's Sports Manager Stefan Nilsson also gave his thoughts on the Draw: "It's great to be back in the CHL! We have three really fun teams to play against and it's going to be fun to start in September."
Sparta's Sports Manager Jaroslav Hlinka, who spent time as a player in Sweden, thinks it's "a tough group".
"Swedish and Finnish teams are always tough to beat," he added.
