Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Dynamo Pardubice's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Czech team - here's what they had to say!
Fehérvár AV19 Head Coach David Kiss: “We haven’t faced Czech teams at this level before, we avoided them even in the Group Stage, only in exhibition games. It’s rare for a Hungarian team to meet such top-level Czech teams. The road trip is also a team-building period, and it’s a nice challenge.”
Tappara Tampere Head Coach Rikard Grönborg: “Dynamo Pardubice have great tradition but they haven’t won the Czech championship in a few years. However, they have progressively gotten better and had a great run last season. Again, I expect them to play a possession style of hockey and will be very fast in their transitions.”
Eisbären Berlin Head Coach Serge Aubin: “It’s always difficult to play against Czech teams. Dynamo Pardubice were top of the table after the regular season in the Extraliga last season. They play a very physical game. We have respect for their game and their skills. We definitely need our best game.”
Straubing Tigers Head Coach Tom Pokel: “Known for their skilled players, strong coaching staff and hard work ethic. Pardubice have a reputation for playing an exciting and fast-paced physical style of hockey, with a focus on teamwork and determination. A respected and successful team in Czech ice hockey, they reached the CHL Quarter-Finals, played in the Spengler Cup final, and lost the championship finals in the Czech Extraliga this past season.”
Lahti Pelicans Head Coach Juhamatti Yli-Junnila: "A tough and experienced team. In recent years, they have risen to become one of the top organisations in Czechia.”
Sheffield Steelers Head Coach Aaron Fox: “Pardubice came up just short last season, but they are the team in Czech right now that’s making a big push to knock Třinec off their title run. They will be a very difficult opponent and a tough one to end our campaign on. Hopefully, this game has meaning for us as it would be great to have something to play for still at this stage.”
