Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Lausanne HC's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Swiss team - here's what they had to say!
Oceláři Třinec Head Coach Zdeněk Moták: “The NL is immensely high-quality with no easy opponents. It will be a challenging game against Lausanne right at the start of the competition. We will want to do our best in the game, every point will be crucial at the end of the Regular Season.”
Pinguins Bremerhaven Head Coach Alexander Sulzer: “Finalists of the Swiss NL last season, they have lots of quality. They play fast and physical and are very skilled.”
Ilves Tampere Head Coach Tommi Niemelä: “Finalists of Switzerland’s National League. They’re a very strong and fast team and have a great home crowd that will make the game atmosphere loud.”
Fehérvár AV19 Head Coach David Kiss: “This is a great opportunity for us to show what we are capable of. Lausanne are a strong team and we need to work hard to be successful against them.”
Storhamar Hamar Head Coach Petter Thoresen: “Lausanne HC are another strong Swiss opponent, a team with a lot of experienced players. A team of top European class.”
Tappara Tampere Head Coach Rikard Grönborg: “Lausanne had a great turnaround season last year and made it all the way to the finals. As any other top National League team, they have the resources to hire the best talented Swiss players and top imports outside of the NHL. I expect them to play a North American physical style of North/South hockey with potent special teams.”
