Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of SønderjyskE Vojens' six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Danish team - here's what they had to say!
Straubing Tigers Head Coach Tom Pokel: "The Danes are a winning organisation having won seven Danish championships in the last 18 years including the 2024 title. High offensive output and strong depth with 11 players booking 25 points or more during the regular season. SønderjyskE have a strong tradition of well-skating teams, being tactically sound and having team toughness. This will be a challenging opponent to kick off our CHL season!”
Red Bull Salzburg Head Coach Oliver David: “SønderjyskE have been a powerhouse, but admittedly not one as familiar as others. I look forward to learning about them and welcoming them to Salzburg.”
Pinguins Bremerhaven Head Coach Alexander Sulzer: “A top Danish team with lots of speed and skill!”
Lahti Pelicans Head Coach Juhamatti Yli-Junnila: “A strong team at home and an interesting opportunity for us to experience Danish ice hockey culture.”
Tappara Tampere Head Coach Rikard Grönborg: “SønderjyskE Vojens are a team that had a very good season last year and qualified for the CHL. Last season they had a very good mixture of top Danish players and some experienced Swedish players. The Danish teams have progressively become more and more competitive in the European top level and Vojens will be a tough opponent. I expect that their team to be skilled and fast skating.”
Eisbären Berlin Head Coach Serge Aubin: “With SønderjyskE Vojens we’ll face the reigning champions from Denmark. We are not going to underestimate them. They know their way around Europe. They have already won the IIHF Continental Cup. We are excited to see what the game against them will be like and are going to prepare meticulously for it.”
