Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of HC Innsbruck's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Austrian team - here's what they had to say!
Genève-Servette Head Coach Jan Cadieux: “Innsbruck qualified for the CHL for the first time thanks to a solid season. They’re the first team we’ll be facing and what’s more, it’ll be on their home ice. We’re expecting a hard-fought game in front of their home crowd.”
Belfast Giants Head Coach Adam Keefe: “Much like the Giants, HC Innsbruck were founded less than 30 years ago, however, despite that, HC Innsbruck have recorded some fantastic achievements in their short history. We look forward to bringing our brand of hockey to Austria against an exciting Innsbruck team.”
Skellefteå AIK Head Coach Robert Ohlsson: “This is a dangerous target team with a lot of offensive skill.”
EHC Biel-Bienne Head Coach Petri Matikainen: “Innsbruck are a familiar team to me because I coached in Klagenfurt in the 2022/23 season and we faced each other in the ICE. Facing them was always tough. They are a very fast team and play offensive-minded hockey. They had a very good season, finishing third in the regular season. They are a traditional team from the beautiful city of Innsbruck. It will be fun to play against them!”
Red Bull Munich Head Coach Toni Söderholm: “The match against Innsbruck is basically a kind of derby for us and I’m sure our fans are really looking forward to it. They played a very good regular season in their league and we expect an atmospheric match in our rink.”
