Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of HK Nitra's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Slovak team - here's what they had to say!
Skellefteå AIK Head Coach Daniel Hermansson: "Nitra are a skilled team with good pace and technical ability. It will be a tough challenge where we need to be precise in all areas of our game.”
Växjö Lakers Head Coach Björn Hellkvist: “Nitra are a team that compete in every situation. In a competition like this, there are no easy games and if you underestimate anyone, you will be punished. We need to focus on our own performance and do the things we are good at. That will give us the best chance of winning.”
Rögle Ängelholm Head Coach Dan Tangnes: “Nitra will be a new opponent for us and that’s one of the exciting aspects of this competition. Facing teams you don’t see regularly is a great experience, and we’ll make sure we’re thoroughly prepared.”
KooKoo Kouvola Head Coach Jouko Myrrä: “HK Nitra come into the competition as the Slovak champions.”
SaiPa Lappeenranta Head Coach Raimo Helminen: “The current Slovak Extraliga champions are a good, high-quality team that play high-level hockey.”
Fribourg-Gottéron Head Coach Roger Rönnberg: “The Slovak champions with an excellent academy that has developed a lot of great players. They have a first-class offence with some top players. Local talent is 18-year-old Tomas Chrenko.”
