After standing for nearly a decade, the Champions Hockey League attendance record has been broken.

A crowd of 18,104 at tonight's game between the Kölner Haie and Frölunda Gothenburg in Cologne, Germany established a new all-time CHL attendance record, surpassing the previous mark of 14,567 spectators.

The former record was set on 7 December 2016 when SC Bern hosted Sparta Prague in the Quarter-Finals of the 2016/17 CHL season and had stood for nearly ten years.
