An important win for Växjö Lakers saw them outlast Bílí Tygři Liberec despite surrendering a big lead.
The Lakers started well, taking a first-period lead through Pontus Netterberg with 10:43 played. Then they got a great start in the middle session - Elias Pettersson scoring at 27 minutes, then Eric Martinsson added to the score 20 seconds later.
With qualification on the line, Liberec rallied - Martin Bakoš got them on the board with 35:07, and then at 36:38 Petr Jelínek got them back to within one. The White Tigers then shocked the 5,350 people inside the Vida Arena by tying the game with just 2:48 gone in the final period thanks to Kryštof Hrabík.
The Lakers, however, weren't done, and broke Czech hearts late on. First, Jonas Røndbjerg scored through traffic to make it 4-3 with 54:15 gone and then found the target again at 56:06 to put his side two up. Robert Rosén made sure of the win into the empty net with 1:56 to go and give the Lakers an important 6-3 win.
