Norway's Frisk Asker made their Champions Hockey League debut last season after winning their fourth domestic championship. They were drawn into a challenging Group A which featured big names such as CHL Veterans Tappara Tampere, who had featured in all five previous seasons of the pan-European competition, and strong newcomers EHC Biel-Bienne.
Despite not winning a single one of their six Group Stage matches in 2019/20, Frisk Asker were a feared opponent on the ice and represented Norwegian hockey with pride.
So what memory from their debut season would Asker want to share with us? Their very first taste of CHL hockey? Their first away game? No. A National Anthem mix-up from their first home game of the season!
Mix-up aside, it's easy to see why this game was so memorable. Frisk Asker went on to play one of the best games of hockey all season and were it not for Biel-Bienne's late equalizer, they would have added to an already impressive night by recording their very first Champions Hockey League points! Better luck next time. See you soon!
