Group A
- Frölunda Indians: QUALIFIED
- Vienna Capitals: Need to better ZSC Lions' results over last two games
- ZSC Lions: Need to better Vienna Capitals' results over last two games
- Aalborg Pirates:
Must win to stay aliveEliminated
Group B
- Red Bull Munich: Already qualified, playing to top group
- Malmö Redhawks: Qualified
- Yunost Minsk:
Must beat TPS and hope Malmö get 0 points to stay aliveEliminated - TPS Turku: Eliminated, playing for points to help the Liiga overall
Group C
- Skellefteå AIK: Qualified
- HC Bolzano: Could qualify with a 3-point win
- IFK Helsinki: Eliminated if Bolzano get 3 points
- GKS Tychy: Eliminated, trying to get Poland's first ever CHL points
Group D
- EV Zug: Qualify with 1 point, or if Neman drop a point
- Kometa Brno: Qualify with 2 points, or if Neman drop two
- Neman Grodno: Must win and hope that Brno don't beat Zug in OT
- Eisbären Berlin: Eliminated, playing to help the DEL improve on its ranking this season
Group E
- Tappara Tampere: Qualified
- Djurgården Stockholm: Qualify with a point
- Storhamar Hamar: Still alive going into GD6
- Oceláři Třinec:
Must beat Storhamar and hope that Djurgården don't beat Tappara in OT, to stay aliveEliminated
Group F
- Kärpät Oulu: Qualified
- THOMAS SABO Ice Tigers: Need 2 points to qualify. Could also go through with 1 point if Mountfield lose
- Rouen Dragons: Must win in regulation
- Mountfield HK:
Must win in regulationEliminated
Group G:
- SC Bern: Already qualified, 3 points win them the group
- Red Bull Salzburg: Need a point to qualify
- Växjö Lakers: Must win in regulation and hope Salzburg don't get a point
- Cardiff Devils: Eliminated, playing to improve Great Britain's overall ranking
Group H:
- HC Pilsen: Already assured of topping the group. Playing to help the Extraliga
- JYP Jyväskylä: Qualify with a regulation win, or an OT/SO win if Banská Bystrica get less than 3 points
- HC Lugano: Must win to stay alive
- HC05 Banská Bystrica: Must take more points than JYP to stay alive. Eliminated if the Finns get 3 points

As home advantage for the CHL final goes to the team with the best overall record in the competition, every game still counts even if teams are already qualified! A win will help their overall total further down the line.
