- Belfast have not lost at home in regulation in the CHL
- Luleå unbeaten on the road
- Both sides could have their fates sealed
Belfast play what could be their final home game of their debut Champions Hockey League season knowing that anything other than a win will probably see them eliminated from this season's competition.
A win for Luleå will guarantee the 2015 Champions a place in the Round of 16, and knock the Giants out, with a game to spare - but if the hosts were to get anything from the game it could throw Group C wide open.
Adam Keefe's men haven't found home form an issue in the Elite League so far, winning all of their games at the SSE Arena bar one. Their indifferent start in both the league and cup formats domestically however has come from a poor away record in which the Giants have yet to win on the road. They return home after losing 4-3 in Dundee on Saturday evening, after a home win against Guildford the night before.
Luleå are not exactly in form in the SHL either, however. With 12 points from eight games in their own league, the side sit ninth overall and have lost three of their last five - conceding three goals in both of their last pair of matches. In the CHL however their road form has seen them win in overtime in both games so far.
European competition may come as a welcome rest bite for both teams, with an opportunity to inject some lift into their domestic campaigns.
