- Luleå top group after three games
- Liberec got first win on Friday
- Both sides averaging just under four goals a game so far
Bílí Tygři Liberec got their first win of of this season's Champions Hockey League on Friday night against Belfast, and now can see a way to get themselves back into the hunt for a playoff place. A win on home ice tonight would draw them level with Luleå on points, and well in the mix for the Round of 16. Conversely however, were the White Tigers to lose, they could give themselves a mountain to climb ahead of the two games with Augsburg next month.
Luleå can't qualify tonight, but they can take a big step forward to doing so. The group leaders play Belfast in their final two games, but could draw six points clear of tonight's opponents with a win - and potentially edge ahead of Augsburg and the Giants further depending on their score.
Both sides have managed 11 goals in their three games so far, but the Swedes have the marginally better goals against average at 2.67.
