- Biel-Bienne are the only time with three regulation wins in the tournament
- Charles Bertrand registered a hat trick in Tappara’s last game
- Biel-Bienne have won all of their games by one goal
Only one team holds a perfect record heading into Game Day 4, and they’re travelling to Finland to take on Tappara Tampere on Sunday. EHC Biel-Bienne will be looking to make it 12-points with another victory against Tappara who picked up their first win and first points on Friday with an 8-3 win over KAC Klagenfurt.
Tappara picked up three crucial points on Friday night, after they’ve come out on the wrong side of close score lines in their first two games. Until their victory, Tappara had lost their opening two games by just one goal each, included a 0-1 loss to Biel as they scored the winner with 68 seconds remaining in regulation, denying Tappara of securing a point for going to overtime. With the offense clicking, and Charles Bertrand registering a hat-trick against Klagenfurt, they’ll hope the home ice advantage continues to give them another three points to put themselves in a favourable position to qualify out of Group A once the Group Stage is completed.
Biel-Bienne are the only team to take a full complement of points so far, winning all three games and all three of those wins coming in regulation for a total of nine points heading into Game Day 4. They’ve managed to win all three of their first games by just one goal, with two wins over Frisk Asker and the Game Day 2 win against Tappara. Coming into Sunday, Biel-Bienne have six goals from six different scorers including Toni Rajala and Mathieu Tschantré who have also registered an assist each, and they’ll once again be called on to continue this impressive run for the Swiss side.
