- Vienna must win to have any chance of staying alive
- Tychy are already out, but are aiming to leapfrog Vienna
- No Polish team has ever totalled 4 points in the CHL
Winning is the only option for the Vienna Capitals as they face a tricky trip to Polish champions GKS Tychy.
The Austrian side are only clinging on to mathematical hope of qualification by virtue of their better Head-to-Head record against Djurgården, and know that dropping points here - or the Swedes picking up at least one - will end their hopes of making the Last 16. The Capitals may have lost on Sunday night, but they've had a strong start in the EBEL with five wins from eight thus far.
Tychy have nothing to lose with their fate already know, but they will be looking for a repeat of Game Day 5 last season where they beat EBEL opponents Bolzano and keep their unbeaten home record against that league. GKS are also playing to make more Polish history in the CHL: no team from the country has ever scored more than three points in a season, a win here would give them four.
GKS are top of their own league after eight games with six wins, averaging more than four goals a game so far.
