Despite both HC Pilsen and EV Zug having already secured qualification for the Playoffs, that doesn’t mean their upcoming tie will be a pointless friendly – they still have to battle it out between each other home and away to determine who will end up top of Group B. Coming into the game they are tied with 10 points each and have both had some of the best starts to this season in the CHL so far.

Zug have won three games and lost only one in OT this year, whilst Pilsen have won all four of their matches so far, be it two of those wins came after regulation time. Both teams rely on key players in their games – Pilsen rely heavily on club captain Milan Gulaš, who has scored 6 goals and assisted 4 so far this season. He is both top of the CHL goal statistics (6 goals) and top of the CHL points statistics (10 points in total). Zug have also found a leader amongst them – Erik Thorell has recorded 8 points in 4 games and is top of the CHL assists charts with 7 assists.

The assurance of advancing to the Playoffs that both teams have could give them the confidence and courage to mix it up and try something out and that could make for an amazing game of hockey, because at the end of the day one of these teams will end up top of Group B.
