- Klagenfurt are five points ahead of Donbass
- Netminder Sebastian Dahm has been outstanding for the Austrians
- Donbass have suffered 3 losses by just one goal!
KAC Klagenfurt enter their next game with a comfortable five-point lead ahead of Ukrainian side HC Donbass Donetsk, and French side the Rouen Dragons, who are neck and neck in Group G. The Austrians are on a four-game winning streak and will be looking to extend it to a fifth win on the road, as they take on Donbass at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv.
The Ukrainians have been dealt some harsh blows in their debut Champions Hockey League season, losing three out of their four games by just one goal. Two of those defeats included a shoot-out, and an OT loss, both times to Danish rivals Rungsted Seier Capital.
As things stand now, Klagenfurt lead the group with ten points, followed by Donbass and Rouen who both have five points. A win by Klagenfurt could see the Austrians move towards securing top place in their Group, while for Donbass every point they can pick up is now vital to qualify for the Round of 16.
Canadian forward Nicholas Petersen leads the charge for the Austrian side with seven points in four games. Slovenian teammate Rok Tičar has made an equally impressive start to his debut season with Klagenfurt, netting five points in four games. Danish netminder Sebastian Dahm has been a huge factor for the Austrians, allowing just four goals in over 240 minutes of playing time.
For Donbass, Russian forward Andrei Biriukov leads the scoring with four points in four games. He is supported by fellow Russian teammate Andrei Sigarev, and Latvian Olegs Sislannikovs, who each have three points apiece. Netminder Andrey Makarov has conceded nine goals in 218 minutes of playing time.
