- Must-win for both teams to stay in qualification hunt
- Lausanne looking for first home goal of season
- Devils trying to claim first road points in Switzerland
Lausanne HC take to the ice in their second home game of the 2021/22 Champions Hockey League looking not only for revenge against the Cardiff Devils, but also for their once goal of the campaign in front of their own fans.
The Swiss side were blanked 3-0 by Lukko Rauma of Finland on Game Day 3 and are currently last in Group C with two points.
Cardiff ran out 4-1 winners when the sides met at Ice Arena Wales last weekend. That result, however, is the Devils’ only win from three after heavy losses to Mannheim home and away.
Lausanne will be able to call on the services of Benjamin Baumgartner, Martin Gernát and Ronalds Kenins for this fixture as they did on Thursday - the trio all missed the trip to Wales while playing for their respective national teams in the Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Cardiff are likely to be unchanged.
