- Leksands IF play host to Oceláři Třinec at the Tegera Arena
- Leksand won on their CHL debut
- Třinec looking for an improved performance after an opening game loss
Game Day 2 action in the 2021/22 Champions Hockey League continues Sunday, and in Group F Lesksands IF of Sweden play host to Czech side Oceláři Třinec.
Leksands left it late to secure a win on their CHL debut on Friday night. They found themselves 3-2 down heading into the final period of play against Slovan Bratislava, but three goals in the final five minutes of the third, with Mikael Ruohomaa scoring twice inside the final two minutes, rescued victory for Leksand.
It looked like it might not go there way, but the superb third period really showed why Leksand are a tough opponent in Group F, and they'll be hoping that continues on Sunday.
For Třinec, it was a different story in their opening game as they never really got going against Fribourg-Gottéron. They were 2-1 down after the first period, and an early goal in the second by Tomáš Kundrátek could’ve set them on their way to victory, but it was all Fribourg after that as they took an eventual 6-2 win as the final buzzer sounded.
There were some positives to take from the performance, but they'll need a bounce back performance on Sunday to avoid falling even further behind in the Group.
