- Group C comes to an end with the Cardiff Devils hosting Lukko Rauma
- Lukko won 5-2 in the first meeting between the sides
- Cardiff can move up to third with a win
Group C of this year's Champions Hockey League wraps up with the Cardiff Devils hosting Lukko Rauma.
Cardiff currently occupy bottom spot in the group but will be hoping to pick up the points necessary to finish third with the side already out of Playoff contention, while Lukko Rauma are eying top spot and will hope they secure three points to help them on that quest.
In CHL action, Cardiff have relied on the goal scoring of Cole Sanford to push them forward, with the Canadian forward scoring four times in five games, while in domestic action it’s been Brodie Reid who’s been filling the net with pucks, so they’ll need one or both to continue their goalscoring form ahead of a tough final game.
For Lukko Rauma, the Finnish team are currently in second spot of the group, so will need a win and some favourable results to secure top spot.
At home last week, Lukko secured a 5-2 victory over Cardiff with Vili Saarijärvi scoring twice while Arrtu Ilömaki finished the night with four points in total.
While they have wrapped up qualification following that win, they’ll hope to end the Group Stage on a high before embarking on their journey for a deep Playoff run.
