- Rögle beat Frölunda four times in the 2020/21 SHL playoff quarter-finals
- Rögle top of the SHL, but Frölunda are just points behind
- Familiar foes - battle of two SHL teams
It's not just a place in the Final up for grabs as Rögle Ängelholm host Frölunda Gothenburg on Tuesday night to begin a two game series to determine which club will be the last Swedish side standing in this year's Champions Hockey League.
For Rögle, their journey has been incredible to get to this point. It's their first-ever CHL appearance and they've made it all the way to the final four. It's been a team effort, with the points spread evenly around the roster. Adam Tambellini leads in terms of goals with five, but the real star has been Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson who's 10 assists are the most among defencemen in the competition.
In a similar vein, Frölunda have spread the points around, but it's once again Ryan Lasch at the top of the statistical charts, leading the CHL with 16 points on the season as he continues to increase his record number of points in the competition over the 100-point-plateau.
They'll also turn to two proven goalscorers this year in Patrik Carlsson and Elmer Söderblom who have seven and six goals respectively, and with a team full of players who know what it takes to win this competition, Carlsson and Söderblom will be given every opportunity to continue their scoring ways to challenge for the scoring title, as well as look to guide Frölunda to a fifth CHL title.
