Tappara Tampere can get themselves even closer to progressing to the knockout rounds if they can continue their impressive start in Group E as they host HC Lugano, who themselves are off to a good start.
Tampere enter the contest on the back of three straight victories, with their last coming in overtime against Eisbären Berlin, thanks to an overtime winner 44 seconds into the extra session from Otta Rauhala.
In the first meeting between Tampere and Lugano, Tampere took a 6-3 victory thanks to a four-goal second period.
After the opening three games, Kristian Kuusela is among the team leaders with five assists, with only one of them coming against Lugano in the first meeting, but Tampere will hope his playmaking abilities are on full display on Sunday night.
For Lugano, they tasted loss against Tampere on Game Day 2 but they have had two very impressive performances against Skellefteå AIK to give them two wins and six points in Group E.
One good performance against Tampere could see them leapfrog their Finnish opponents into top spot of the group and get closer to moving on to the knockout rounds.
Luca Fazzini scored a second period hat trick on their Game Day 3 victory over Skellefteå, with himself and Daniel Carr both on six points through three games and leading a high-power offence for the Swiss side.
