- Färjestad scored five in their last meeting
- Cracovia were unable to match the Swedes' intensity
- Both clubs have nothing on the line
Comarch Cracovia will welcome Färjestad Karlstad for a rematch of last week’s affair. The Polish side suffered their third straight loss as Färjestad put five past Rok Stojanovic to earn their fourth win of the season.
Thoroughly outplayed throughout the match-up, Cracovia will be looking to tweak a number of areas as they get set to play hosts. The Polish side have been struggling to produce much offence having netted a combined five tallies in their last three games. Consequently, Cracovia haven’t held a lead since their 4-2 victory over Villach SV. Added to their scoring woes is a defence that has allowed an average of four goals per game, tied for eighth worst in the league.
As they prepare for another tough test, the Polish side will be playing for pride in front of their home crowd. For success to happen, Cracovia would do well to get more traffic in front of their net and more shots on the opposing netminder. Last week they managed 12 shots in total compared to the Swedes’ 38.
Färjestad continued to do what they do best – create chances and execute. The Swedes had little trouble getting things going against Cracovia, scoring five minutes in when Anton Berglund received a perfect feed from Marcus Westfält and made no mistake. The hosts would go on to post four more to seal another victory and earn their Playoff qualification.
Entering this rematch, the Swedes’ need only replicate that style of play that has seen them outscore their opponents by three or more goals three times this season.
