- Group C welcomes its 4th match of the season
- Tappara won first against Slovan
- Rapperswil suffers first loss on CHL debut
With Rapperswil-Jona Lakers losing their first match to Red Bull Munich on their CHL debut, they will need to bring their best as they head into their next match against Tappara Tampere, a team fresh off their first win against Slovan Bratislava.
Despite scoring a goal with less than seven minutes on the clock, Leandro Profico would net the team’s only goal against Munich, resulting in a 4-1 defeat at home.
On the other hand, Tappara were able to play well in the first game of their 7th CHL season, beating Slovan 5-2. The Liiga champions and runner’s up of last year’s CHL are looking keen to keep their winning streak going as the season pushes along.
Rapperswil Head Coach Stefan Hedlund had this to say about his team’s upcoming meeting with Tappara: “They are not only the Finnish champions but also the Finalists of last year’s CHL- so obviously a very strong opponent.”
Keeping on an eye on Tappara’s Niko Ojamäki might be a good start, as he scored two goals in the team’s fight against Slovan.
Tappara Head Coach Jussi Tapola shared this sentiment when commenting on Rapperswil: “They have a lot of talent, and we really have to be tight on the defense.”
Be sure to see if the home crowd can lend some luck to Rapperswil the second time around!
