- Villach searching for first win, Cracovia with one win so far this season
- Cracovia need to pickup points to keep Playoffs hopes alive
- Villach have home ice advantage
Villach SV host Polish side Comarch Cracovia in Austria in a game that pits against each other two teams that have found it hard to compete so far this season.
ICE side Villach are 0-3 to this point, most recently losing 2-1 to SHL champions Färjestad Karlstad on Friday. The Austrians tried their best and definitely played a better game than their previous two, but it still wasn't enough for them to pick up their first points of the season.
Villach's main issue has been scoring. The team have only scored three goals in three games, ranking them last in goals scored, with Nicolas Mattinen scoring two of them. If the Austrains are to stand a chance against Cracovia, they'll need to up their offensive efforts considerably.
Cracovia have fared better, they've picked up three points, scored nine goals in three games and sit on a -3 Goal Difference, which is very good regarding their points haul in those three games!
They have the advantage of having beaten Villach before, back on Game Day 2, when the Poles won 4-2. Their last game was against the Straubing Tigers and ended in a 3-2 loss, but the Poles were competitive and have the hunger and desire to win some more points - watch out Villach!
