- Pardubice have been dominant on both sides of the puck
- Berlin need more from their top scorers
- Will be the first meeting between these two clubs
A dominating 7-0 victory over Fehérvár AV19 was followed up by an equally impressive 5-1 win against Tappara Tampere as Dynamo Pardubice have shown they are in top form and have solidified themselves as one of the deadliest clubs in the competition.
Now, they'll take on Eisbären Berlin that have had mixed results to begin their 2024/25 Champions Hockey League campaign. A 3-1 loss to the Växjö Lakers made way for a 4-1 win against Polish competitors Unia Oświęcim with Berlin playing a much more disciplined game in their second effort.
In what was billed as a must-see match between two more-than-capable clubs, Pardubice's 5-1 win over Tappara was more of a demonstration on how to dismantle your opponent. From the get-go, Pardubice were in full control, dictating the pace of the play and causing problems in all three zones for Tappara. As they get ready to take on Berlin, subscribing to that same style of aggressive play will only help them as they look to register their third victory in as many games.
Berlin, however, haven't shown that same dominance and despite their recent win, the team from the German capital still have some tweaks to make as they get set to take on their toughest challenger to date. This starts with a lack in point production from their top players. The top scorer on last year's team, Zachary Boychuk, currently only has one point while Marcel Noebels, another gifted forward, has also only found the scoresheet once. If Berlin can start to get more from their top players, their chances of claiming their second win become that much stronger.
