An excellent defensive outing for the Norwegians helped Storhamar Hamar capture their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over KAC Klagenfurt. Frölunda Gothenburg, on the other hand, were dealt their first loss when Kölner Haie put five past Tobias Normann.

Storhamar's success against the Austrians was largely built on a sound defensive game that effectively limited their opponents to just 17 shots on goal. This was a massive improvement from their prior appearances where they allowed 27 and 26 to Genève-Servette and HC Davos, respectively. While their offensive metrics still leave a lot to be desired - the club's only managed to score two goals in each contest - this upshot on the backend is something the Norwegians should consider honing in on. There is the rare occassion when a great defence can compensate for an average offence.

The Swedes were handed an uncharacteristic loss in their Game Day 3 feature, and that's all the fire they need to get themselves back in the win column. This loss notwithstanding, Frölunda have been lights out as usual and simply need a restart. This is possible against a Storhamar team that is currently only scoring 2.00 GG. If the Swedes can manage to reset their D-core and reclaim that stability between the iron, add in a healthy dose of offence and a third win is all but guaranteed.
