- Both teams have already secured their place in the Playoffs
- Two of the top defensive teams in the CHL
- Pardubice 2nd-best PK, Lakers tied for 3rd
Both Dynamo Pardubice and the Växjö Lakers have already secured spots in the Champions Hockey League Playoffs, so both teams will be aiming to finish with the highest seeding possible when they meet in Eastern Bohemia for the final Regular Season game for each team. Entering Game Day 6, Pardubice sit third with 12 points and the Lakers are 8th with nine. Also in the mix for Pardubice is the Regular Season Winners title, so maximum points are very much the result they want.
Pardubice are coming off an impressive come-from-behind 5-2 win over the Bordeaux Boxers and have been one of the CHL’s most solid teams from top to bottom in this competition so far, ranking third in goals for and second in goals against. They also have the third-best powerplay at 30.00% and second-best penalty killing at 92.31%. Lukáš Sedlák leads the team with seven points, while Jáchym Kondelík has five goals and David Tomášek is tied for second-most shots on goal in the CHL with 18.
Växjö’s scoring hasn’t been as prolific as Pardubice’s but they’ve been almost as good defensively with only nine goals against, which ranks them tied for third and their PK is fourth-best at 89.47%. They’re coming off a 4-0 shutout win over Genève-Servette. Lucas Elvenas leads the team with eight points, which is twice as many as anyone else on the team. Defenceman Elias Lindgren leads the team at plus-5 and Joel Persson has the eighth-most time on ice in the CHL at 21:49 per game.
