- Rematch of 2023/24 CHL Final
- Both teams perfect with 6 points each
- Pudas & Puljujärvi tied for CHL lead with 4 assists
Five Champions Hockey League teams take perfect six-point records into Game Day 3 and two of them will face off against each other as Skellefteå AIK host Genève-Servette. This is also a rematch of the 2023/24 CHL Final, which Genève won 3-2 on home ice. This game, which will be played in northern Sweden, will feature many of the same players.
Skellefteå did about as well as could be expected from their first two games on the road, beating Slovak champions HK Nitra 6-1 and German finalists Adler Mannheim 3-1. As a result, they currently hold down the top seed in the standings with a goal difference of +7, and play their next two games at home. Valter Lindberg and defenceman Jonathan Pudas lead the team with four points each. Pudas is also the CHL’s co-leader with four assists and seven blocked shots, while Hudson Fasching is among the hits leaders with four.
Genève opened their season with a 6-2 win over German champions Eisbären Berlin before getting past a feisty Norwegian Storhamar Hamar side 3-2. The Genève line-up features arguably the most star power of any CHL club, led by James Vesey with five points, followed by Markus Granlund, Sakari Manninen and Jesse Puljujärvi with four each. Granlund is tied for second in the CHL with three goals and Puljujärvi is tied for the assists lead with four.
