Cardiff's much anticipated CHL debut takes them to Davos for the their opening game in Group E. In a tough group with Liberec and Växjö, the hosts will need to avoid any slip-ups to be in the hunt for a place in the top two.
“They're an unknown team that cannot be underestimated," admitted Davos' veteran Head Coach Arno Del Curto, who has been behind the team's bench since 1996. "This team will certainly create a surprise one way or another."
The Devils are expecting to be back by a solid traveling support in Switzerland as they embark on their first CHL adventure. Head Coach Andrew Lord is, however, under no illusions about the scale of the task facing his side. "There is so much to be said about Davos, from their legendary coach, Arno Del Curto, to their unbelievable history and tradition as a club. For our team to have the opportunity to play where the Spangler Cup has been hosted since 1923 is incredible," said the 32-year-old, who is actually registered as a Player-Coach for the Welsh side. "We know Davos have a great transition game and it will be a tremendous test for us.”
