- Bolzano surprised with shootout win over Skellefteå in their opening game
- IFK overcame inspired GKS Tychy to record road win
- A win for either side would put them clear at the top
Helsinki will be looking to return home undefeated after playing their first of two matches against HC Bolzano, who marked their return to the Champions Hockey League with an emphatic shootout win.
The Finnish side will be looking to build some early momentum in Group C if they are to try and progress into the knockout stages with any real intent. This comes after they used their experience in the tournament to overcome Polish Champions GKS Tychy , beating them 5-3 thanks to two goals in the final period.
Bolzano will be looking to reward their fans, who remained boisterous throughout their opening game, as they ground out a 4-3 shootout win against Skellefteå AIK. The home side proved to be more clinical in front of net after being outshot and outplayed for most of the game.
The matchup between these sides proves to be a hard one to predict. A win for the Foxes would find them four points shy of their 201/15 campaign tally after only playing a third of the games. A victory for the visitors on the other hand would see them sitting comfortably top of the Group,
