- Pilsen beat Banská Bystrica 6-4 at home on Gameday 5
Heading into their last game of the Group Stage, the Champions Hockey League’s last remaining perfect team, HC Pilsen, will try to earn their sixth straight win with a visit to HC05 Banská Bystrica, while the home team will attempt to finish their CHL season with a win.
As dominant as Pilsen have been in the CHL, the start to their Czech Extraliga season has been lukewarm. However, the defending regular-season champs are showing signs of getting strong domestically by beating current league-leaders Mountfield HK on Sunday 2-1 in a shootout. In the Slovak Liga, Banská Bystrica sit fourth after 14 games, most recently losing to MHK 32 Liptovský Mikulaš at home.
Pilsen won 6-4 on home ice when these teams met last week. In the game, David Stach recorded four points, and he’s currently the CHL’s LGT Top Scorer with 10 points. Gilbert Gabor had two points for Banská Bystrica in the game.
