Another historic night in Nottingham, as the Panthers beat SC Bern to go top of Group F with four games played.
Simon Moser gave Bern the perfect start with a goal at 4:50 on the board. As the period ticked down and with Bern on a power play, Andrew Ebbett doubled their lead with 1:57 to go in the period.
Period two, however, belonged to the Panthers. Alexander Mokshantsev got the home side on the board at 21:59, and then the home fans went wild when he netted again at 33:45. The Panthers had chances to take the lead, but then a late period penalty had them on the defensive and the buzzer couldn't come quick enough for them.
Then to the third, only 1:03 on the clock, and the home fans were in ecstasy as Jeff Brown lit the lamp to put the Panthers ahead for the first time in the game. A great battle then came over the next few minutes, as Bern desperately tried to tie the game and the Panthers - roared on by the home crowd - threw their bodies in the way of shots. The Panthers killed a couple of penalties and were then denied going ahead by a wonder save from Genoni, denying Clarke from point-blank range.
Kari Jalonen called a timeout with just over two minutes to go and pulled Genoni, as Bern threw bodies at the Panthers' net. However, with 11 seconds to go, Nottingham-born Robert Lachowicz shot from the neutral zone into the empty net to raise the roof and give Nottingham an unbelievable 4-2 win!
