Trailing 2-1 entering the third period last week in Malmö, Oceláři Třinec did themselves a huge favour by scoring twice in the third period to bring a one-goal lead into their home game against the Redhawks. The Steelers won both of their home games in the group stage, and now need just a draw in front of what is projected to be a sell-out crowd to advance to the Quarter-Finals.

"We have great fans and we feel they are our sixth player," said Třinec forward Aron Chmielewski, who scored the winning goal late in the first game. "We could hear them in Jönkoping and Malmö and I hope they will be sold out at home."

"For the game next week we are planning on winning," said Nichlas Hardt, who scored Malmö's lone goal in the first game. "(In game one) we learned a bit of how they play and therefore we can make some changes."

Since last week’s game, Třinec have played two Extraliga games on the road, winning once and losing once. They now have 39 points, which is one off the lead shared by Kometa Brno and Škoda Pilsen. Likewise, the Redhawks have also won once and lost once on the road this past week. With 26 points, they remain sixth in the SHL.
