Heading into last week’s meeting in Jönköping, Oceláři Třinec needed two points to secure advancement and hometown HV71 needed two points to stay alive. Thanks to a shootout win, HV71 did stay alive, but now must win in regulation time on the road to advance. For the hometown Steelers, one point will be enough.
Třinec have got many skilled players on their team and we know that they like to attack. We really have to watch out for that next game. I guess they want to play even more offensive at home,” said HV71 goaltender Jonas Gunnarsson.
Třinec defenceman Lukáš Krajíček said: "The next game against HV71 will be a similar game, I think. We know that they are a good team and have to prepare and really focus to get the win. We hope to get a push from our fans to bring out some energy."
