- Luleå remain undefeated in Group A
- Aalborg led on shots on goal 32-28
- Two powerplays for both teams
After a few weeks off, the Aalborg Pirates welcomed Luleå Hockey for their debut face-off in Denmark.
Both teams started the opening period with an eagerness to get the first one passed the net, which ended up coming from Luleå’s Konstantin Komarek at the 12:20 mark. Just over a minute later, the Danes seemed to feel the pressure to respond, resulting in a hooking penalty being called on Nikolaj Carstensen.
Aalborg would get their next chance to tie things up after Pontus Själin was sent to the box on a holding call, but were unable to get something on the board, with the first period coming to a close with a 1-0 lead for Luleå.
The top of the middle frame brought a quick 2-0 lead for Luleå, with Julius Honka taking a stellar shot off the left with the assist from Brendan Shinnimin. Following suit, Filip Pyrochta came in with the next one passed the net for Luleå, giving them a comfortable 3-0 lead.
At the 25:44 mark, the home team finally got something going, with Magnus Boesen giving the Pirates their first goal.
The final frame came and went without any major moments and despite the empty net for Aalborg, they were unable to capture a home win, resulting in a final score of 3-1 for Luleå.
