- Pardubice bagged four goals in the opening period
- Ingolstadt suffer first defeat of the season
- Third win in a row for Pardubice
Six goals ensured a dominant victory before their home crowd for Dynamo Pardubice on Game Day 4 of the Champions Hockey League. Tonight’s win secures another three points for the home team but also ends ERC Ingolstadt’s three-game winning streak as both clubs exit this game with 9 points in the Regular Season Standings.
The first period offered plenty of goals for the Czechs with Daniel Rákos being the first to see his name light up on the board just two minutes into the game. Tomáš Urban, in an excellent position, delivered a precise pass to Daniel Rákos who skillfully sent the puck into the unguarded net.
The second goal was scored at 8:46 on the powerplay which was the result of a badly aimed check from Ingolstadt’s forward. The intense atmosphere led to a major brawl at 11:46, resulting in fighting penalties being served to players from both teams. Two more goals were added to the scoreboard in the opening period, and both gave the home crowd reason to celebrate.
The second period brought us goal number five, courtesy of David Cienciala, whose perfectly positioned shot found the back of the net, marking his second goal of the evening. As the frustration grew, so did the penalty calls in favour of the Czechs. Pardubice’s final goal was netted by Tomáš Urban on the powerplay at 32:41 as he skillfully redirected a swift shot into an open portion of the net.
Two penalty calls were made in favour of Ingolstadt, leading to a 5-on-3 powerplay opportunity at the beginning of the final frame. The visiting team capitalised on this advantage, scoring their first and only goal of the game.
The final buzzer signalled a resounding 6-1 victory for the home team as Ingolstadt slowly departed the ice having lost their first game of the season.
