- Horký: 3 assists for Brno
- Buchweiser & Smith: each score for Berlin
- Langhamer: 41 saves for Brno
After a scoreless and evenly played first period, Kometa really got their offence in gear in the second and struck three times to take a 3-0 lead. All three goals were the result of nice passing plays, with Luboš Horký setting up Martin Dočekal, Jan Hrušek and Karel Plášek. But just when it looked like the Brno club would get to the dressing room with a three-goal lead, Martin Buchwieser got Berlin on the board with 13 seconds left in the period, picking the five-hole on Marek Langhamer.
A string of penalties early in the third period gave Kometa a few minutes of almost continuous powerplay time for several minutes (even 5-on-3 for a while), but they were unable to widen their lead, and then a nice deflection by Colin Smith made it a one-goal game with under seven minutes of play, setting up a dramatic finish. Berlin did generate some chances in the last two minutes with Maximilian Franzreb on the bench for a sixth attacker, but Langhamer came up big to preserve the victory.
