- Horký: 3 goals for Brno
- Levsha: 1+1 for Grodno
- Brno powerplay: 2/6
Kometa Brno exacted revenge on Neman Grodno, winning 6-2 and, temporarily at least, pulling even with EV Zug atop Group D. Luboš Horký and Jan Hruška had three points each in the winning cause.
Things didn’t start out well for the home side when, in the third minute, an errant clearing attempt by goalie Marek Langhamer ended up in the net before he could get back into position, with Artyom Levsh finishing. Kometa dominated the rest of the first period, however, and scored three straight goals – two by Horký, who now has six points in the tournament, and one by Lukáš Nahodil, who had a two-point game.
After an evenly played second period, in which the teams traded powerplay goals, two more Kometa goals in the third period – including Horký’s hat-trick goal with under three minutes to play – effectively put it away.
