- Jastrzębie win 2nd straight game, finish 3rd in Group H
- Vitalijs Pavlovs: 3 asssists for Jastrzębie
- Patrik Nechvátal: 36 saves for Asker
In a game between two teams already eliminated and battling for third and fourth places in Group H, JKH GKS Jastrzębie defeated Frisk Asker 7-3 to finish the CHL season for both teams.
Jastrzębie opened the scoring just shy of the seven-minute mark, when Vitalijs Pavlovs faked a shot and then found Łukasz Nalawajka, who had Henrik Fayen Vestavik at his mercy. At 14:11 it was 2-0 on another nice set-up by Pavlovs. This time he went back to the point to Siarhei Bahaleisha, whose one-time blast went through a crowd and a screened Vestavik.
Already up by two, Jastrzębie broke it open early in the second period with two goals in the first 5:10. The Polish team was doing a good job of getting traffic in front of the Asker net and the third goal was again the result of a screen, with Yauheni Kameneu’s long shot eluding everyone and getting a slight tip from Radek Nalewajka, putting both twin brothers in the goal column.
At 27:20, Asker got on the scoreboard when Jimi Kuronen led a rush up the right wing and unloaded a slapper that Patrik Nechvátal couldn’t handle.
In the third period, Egils Kalns and Arturs Sevcenko effectively put the game away, making it 6-1 Jastrzębie with less than eight minutes to play. A late flurry of goals made the final score 7-3.
