- Red Bull Sazburg scores 15 seconds into the game
- JKH GKS Jastrzębie's Dominik Jarosz puts up 2 goals
- Red Bull Salzburg outshoot their hosts 32-19
Red Bull Salzburg took just 15 seconds to net their first goal of the night, thanks to a quick wristshot from Danjo Leonhardt who threaded the needle on the short-side, making it 1-0 for the visitors. Not to be outdone, JKH GKS Jastrzębie forward Dominik Jarosz skated the puck in, and was barely challenged by Salzburg's defence to equalise the game at 1:31. A duo of calls on both sides provided opportunities, but neither side was able to take the lead before the buzzer sounded to conclude the first period.
The second stanza saw Jastrzębie take the lead at home, and a second goal for Dominik Jarosz, this time a neat tip from blueliner Łukasz Nalewajka, who blasted it from the point. Salzburg collected four more minutes of man-advantage play after defenceman Maris Jass was sent to the box for slew-footing. Salzburg went right to work, with Peter Schneider netting a backhander off a loose rebound, to equalise the game 2-2.
The third period was a battle for puck possession, and shots on goal. Salzburg nearly scored their third of the night, but Jastrzębie netminder Patrik Nechvátal managed a blistering glove save to deny the visitors.
A tripping penalty on Roman Rac gave the Austrian side two minutes of man-advantage play, but their efforts were unrewarded. With even strength play resuming, the tenacity of the Austrians finally paid off, and a tip from 24-year-old Benjamin Nissner gave Salzburg a crucial 3-2 lead.
With four minutes left in the period Jastrzębie pressed hard to find offensive chances, but Salzburg's forecheck was consistent, leaving little time or space for the Polish side to generate any sort of high quality scoring opportunties before the final horn sounded.
The win marks Red Bull Salzburg's second win on the road, while Jastrzębie are yet to record a win, despite two extremely close games.
