Dynamo Pardubice overcame an early deficit with a dominant middle frame outburst and held off KooKoo Kouvola’s late push to secure a 6-3 victory, their third of this Champions Hockey League season so far.

Pardubice’s early discipline issues opened the door, and Kouvola seized the moment with a relentless forecheck. Roope Tossavainen ultimately broke the deadlock, giving the Finnish side an opening-period edge.

The Czech side completely flipped the script in the second frame with a relentless three-goal onslaught. It was Pardubice’s Jáchym Kondelík who levelled the score before Ari Gröndhal ran into penalty trouble. Seizing full control on the resulting powerplay, Matěj Stránský and Jan Mandát struck in rapid succession, making it 3-1. But the Finns answered right back, as Gröndhal made amends by finding the back of the net.

After the second intermission, Pardubice wasted zero time to increase the lead. Just 30 seconds in, Stanley Cup champion Tomáš Nosek struck Pardubice’s fourth goal, his first back playing for his boyhood club, before Lukáš Sedlák added yet another one few minutes later, stretching the lead to 5-2.

Just as the game seemed out of reach, Kouvola scored their third goal thanks to Samuel Valkeejärvi. After a tense video review, the goal was confirmed, cutting the deficit to 3-5. Kouvola then pulled their goalie, but Pardubice’s Kondelík sealed the deal with an empty-netter – his second and final goal on the night.
