- Němec & Nederost both score on Pilsen debut
- Elvis Merzlikins saves 90% of shots faced
- Winning goal scored with 6:23 remaining
Pilsen outshot their Swiss opponents to zero in the first period, but only had one goal to show for it - that coming through Vojtěch Němec at 12:43. It took until well over halfway throguh the game to equalise, Sebastien Reuille levelling things up at 31:28 with a soft effort Dominik Frodl would probably want back. Then a mixup at the other end handed Pilsen the lead again as Václav Nedorost had a half open net to aim at just 12 seconds later.
Lugano, on the back foot and killing penalties for most of the opening 40 minutes would however head into the locker room on level terms. Linus Klassen's thunderbolt from the blueline through a screen tied things up with 2:37 to go before the break. As the game ticked down there was a role-reversal to the earlier stages, as Lugano grew into the game and had the better chances. But as had hapepened earlier in the game to Pilsen, this time the visitors rued missed chances - Němec left unmarked in the slot to go high and win the game with 6:23 to go.
