- Vincour gets a goal and an assist
- Mountfield turn the game around with two goals in 23 seconds
- Rouen score first goal of the season
Mountfield’s special teams delivered in the second period to relieve themselves from their opening day loss against the French champions.
The Dragons began the scoring in this fixture with their first goal of the tournament to lift themselves out of fourth place temporarily. Mountfield HK didn’t stay bottom of the group for long however, scoring two goals in the first 30 seconds of the second period to flip the game on its head. The home side went on to punish an ill-disciplined Rouen by scoring yet another powerplay goal to make it 3-1, with second line player Tomáš Vincour getting his second point of the game with an assist.
Rouen did give Mountfield something to think about when they poked home a goal with eight minutes left. The finish proved to be nothing but a consolation after the final buzzer for the French side, who are no strangers to the position they now find themselves in.
